On Saturday afternoon, 14th December, ACT Sovereign Council and Canberra Sovereign Chapter met at the Canberra Masonic Centre.
The Council was opened at 1pm by the Grand Commander, Em Bro Ken Rowland OAM 32° CoM. The work of the Council was the election of Officers prior to the March Installation. Ken then delivered a Homily to Christmas. Several affiliations and one petition for Elevation were also considered.
The District Commander congratulated Ken on his appointment by Supreme Council to the office of District Commander for the new amalgamated district of ACT and NSW South Coast. Roman also presented V Ill Bro Ian McQuillan 33° with his Grand Commander certificate.
The Chapter was opened at 3pm by the Most Wise Sovereign, Em Bro Dr David Knight 32° CoM. The work of the Chapter was the election of Officers prior to the March Enthronement. David then delivered a Christmas oration and invited discussion which motivated several related and historical topics. Several affiliations were considered which will be ratified in March.
The District Commander again congratulated Ken on his appointment to the office of District Commander. Roman also presented E&P Bro Fernandez with his certificate of Perfection and the 18° Educational Booklet.

The Princes then retired to Lodge Room 2 which had been beautifully decorated the night before by, of course, Ken and Em Bro Jag Basant 31° OoM District Recorder. The Christmas Refectory comprised wraps, a selection of sliced meats, and pudding with custard. Head dress was of course mandatory.
